ENSO ALERT SYSTEM STATUS

EL NIÑO
https://pubfiles.pagasa.dost.gov.ph/climps/climateforum/outlook.pdf

Moderate to strong El Niño is present in the Tropical Pacific. Climate models predict that El Niño will continue until the first half of 2027 and may reach a very strong state before the end of 2026.

Farmers are advised to conserve water, maintain irrigation systems, and harvest rainwater to ensure adequate water supply during El Niño. Use drought-tolerant crops and soil moisture conservation practices. Regularly monitor DOST-PAGASA weather updates and adjust farm activities accordingly. Despite generally drier conditions, localized thunderstorms may still bring heavy rain, strong winds, lightning, and possible flash flooding
